I Used To

I used to want to know it all. But now, I find myself desiring to know less.

I don’t want to hear about the hate that we have for one another because of differing opinions, different political parties, different genders or different skin colors.

I don’t want to hear about how the education system has failed everyone and how parents aren’t doing their jobs and how we’re not getting paid more to work less.

I want to learn new things. I want to read. I want to be around my family and listen to the old stories and make new memories.

I learned today a story about my mom going to the prom. I learned today about how my grandson sees himself as a superhero. I learned how to use a shoehorn.

But most importantly, I learned another tidbit in God’s word that was just lying there waiting for me to discover it.
